Hi guys Many months ago there was a thread about a whole famdamily of chins that got turned in to the Toronto Humane Society. It seems everyone has a home except for these two ladies. www.torontohumanesociety.com/sm_mammals.htmThey have been at the THS for many months now and if you have room in your house and heart for these girls they would sure appreciate it. THS is a no kill shelter but as we all know it isn't the same as a loving home.

That's such a shame! They look lovely. I'd take them in a heartbeat if I could. I hope you find a home for them very very soon.

Me too - these gals have been at THS for too long and even though they are safe they need the love a furever home brings.

If I was in the right situation to adopt them I would in a heartbeat. It breaks my heart to see that, keep us updated?

They're not exactly in an ideal place, it's true, but I see that listing with hope and a light heart because it suggests that the shelter knows something about chinchillas and is looking out for their well-being. In addition, they are at an apparently no-kill shelter. I think they're pretty safe for now, and probably better than wherever they came from.
I went to Petfinder.com and typed in chinchilla, and 8 pages came up. 8 pages full of chinnies looking for good homes. THAT is distressing, to me.
Frankly, I'd be more concerned about about the well-being of chinnies like Chip and Dale (sorry, Travis, if you're still on the board) who got to know Travis and a standard of care that was well above what they went through in the classroom - only to return to that same classroom. That is very sad, to me.
There is hope for the Luda her sister. There is potential for hope for Chip and Dale, but that situation does not exactly feel uplifting to me. (Anyone have any realistic thoughts on that particular matter?)
Sigh.
