Hello all, I have been so busy. Im on trying to catch up on threads and posts! Sure do miss reading stories here. I recently formed a non-profit animal rescue in KY. We focus on chinchillas as well as other small and exotic animals. We are fundraising at the moment to get our 501(c)3 status - and it is going well...so hopefully we can apply for that soon! We just had a surrender day before last...a pair of chins. (Chewy and Bella) So we now have 3 rescues. 6 chins total, and 2 gerbils. (3 resident chins and 2 resident gerbils due to special needs.) We recently had an article on the local news, so once I get the link I'd like to share it with you all. You can read more about the latest rescues at www.chinsnfriends.wix.com/homeAnd Facebook at www.facebook.com/chinsnfriends

Not sure you are aware that the old co owner of Luckys Wonder of Chinchillas has a well known forum and rescue with the same name..and has had it for nearly 6 years. She is registered too and I just want people to know who they are dealing with, the public chinchilla community is quite clickish as you probably know , just have to look at facebook. Many of us have a long history in this community, maybe changing the N to "and" would be helpful. I wish you all the luck in the world and those beautiful animals I just saw on your site , which is very very well done congrats jamie

lol - yes bonnie that was the link! I'm so super busy with the rescue right now. I have 1 chin leaving for PA next week 1 ready to pop her kits out anytime 1 with pending interest 2 guinea pigs who just came in and now looking for homes - foster home has not contacted me, I'm ready to drop them. 1 Jenday conure coming in tomorrow afternoon, who I am transferring out to a local bird rescue and a pair of chins I hope to help, but am running into problems. Plus the 5 residents, 2 dog sitting gigs, starting the new job at the shelter likely Wednesday, etc etc. A few more foster homes interested, though no one seems very committed - and if they are they're too far away. ahhhhh. lol
