With permission from Jamie, I am posting this referral link here. From now through the month of October, if you order through this link smallpetselect.refr.cc/FGDM6J3 they are offering to give our rescue $10 for every referral. If you are in need of some hay please think about ordering from them through the above link. I would NOT recommend them had I not tried it for myself and found that my expectations were not only met, but exceeded!

Hey Guys I just e-mailed them to ask if they will ship to the UK cause im having huge problems with Bo's teeth atm, she is refusing all the different Hays I have given here, she is still eating but she is dribbling a hell of alot.
It is not Malo, she was just not fed correctly before she came to us and now wont eat Hay.
Im hoping we might be able to get some over here and she loves it *please all cross ya fingers for me* cause otherwise we need to go to the Vet again, and last time she stopped breathing on the table, so im a bit dubious about taking here again as even the vet is worried about her.
Hopefully we will get a result. Hugz Aaron

Hi Aaron, I hope you have her your little buddy on extruded pellets? You have them in the UK , more available there than here. These help keep the teeth ground down. The Beaphor Xrtavital is very good. I have been dealing with 3 chinnies all with teeth problms, so unfortunately I have become a self taught expert on the subject (sigh). Also the added Vit. C and calcium helps a lot. Penny

Hugz Aaron Aaron Write them and tell Laurie that you are my good friend and a member of our forum please I know others have asked her and she wrote that she doesnt ship outside of the US . I think since its a small company she doesnt and also because they ship all this stuff fresh, and there is a concern that the time in transit would compromise the quality. Hopefully with all the requests they are getting they will consider shipping! I agree with Penny... the Beaphar would of course be helpful but having good quality delicious hay seems like a great thing as well ... So glad to see you on the board today hugz Jamie

Hi Aaron, if Bo is dribbling, there is definitely something more going on then just not wanting to eat hay. Picky chinchillas don't drool. You say Bo doesn't have malo, but have they taken xrays, as well as done a teeth exam while Bo is gassed? This is the only way to tell if malo has something to do with it. Bo may have something stuck in his teeth, a tooth spur burrowing into his cheek, his tooth roots growing out of control, any number of things, but without a through exam, you will never know.

Oh her problems are all to do with teeth spurs, we have had a number of X-rays done in the last 4 years we have had her and some really intricate dental done to try and encourage her to eat right and grind her teeth down. She is just a really fussy little madam. She has ALWAYS got a selection of upto 4 different hays at a time. She refuses to chew on hey, she refuses to chew on wood, knaw blocks, any toys....... We have tried taking the pellets away so she only has hay and she just makes herself sick where she refuses to eat and she ends up on critical care cause her weight drops so low. Here is a link to the company we get the pellets off, she has been on them since we got them and so have all the othhers. www.charnwoodmilling.co.uk/mail-order/chincilla.htmlI will look up the ones penny suggested aswell. We can only hope something works. Hugz Aaron

Hi Aaron, We have been completely avoiding the teeth spurs (fingers crossed) by giving extruded pellets. From my understanding, these pellets are baked so they are harder to chew, and they help grind down the teeth. There are 3 brands that I know of of extruded....mine love the Beaphar Xtravital. There is also Science Selectives, also in the UK....but mne wont touch it. I also have Blue Seal which mine love. I have lots of it if you would like to to send you some to try? Let me know....Penny

Hey guys
Yeah penny that would be awesome if you could. I have had a look on the net and can only find the Beaphar Xtravital mixed food over here and not the pellet. Perhaps im being blind, but the sites I checked out had a number of other brands.
Will PM you my address Penny Cheers again
Hugz Aaron

I placed my order on Saturday and it shipped on Monday. I am looking forward to finally having good quality hay. I buy the Oxbow brand at Petsmart but it just doesn't seem fresh. Now I just have to find quality stick by the bulk for a reasonable price. Thanks Jamie

Thanks Jamie I think you will be really happy with the hay my guys still like it and its held up really well m( I have 8 pounds) I have been getting my sticks since closing down my "stick" business from Christine at Twilight Chinchillas. The last batch of pear wood and apple she got from an organic source I think in oregon... the stuff is really good. Jamie

Thanks for introducing this hay on here. I finally ran out of the box of farmer dave's hay and bought small pet select. Malcolm (my chinny) dove right in. I've never seen such a great reaction to hay before.
