I got permission from Stacie to post this:
Stacie's mom brought over food and made sure they gave it to the chins, so that much is taken care of.
If you are able to take in these two chins please let either Stacie or I know. Thank you!
I have received permission from the owner to post this. Long story short, someone who I will not name, who shouldn't have gotten a chinchilla, got one from an irresponsible pet store. Said chin turned out to be pregnant and gave birth to quads a couple weeks after she was purchased. Now said person can not afford to feed the chinchillas and needs to find a home for them. The landlord has told her they all need to go, but I have only managed to talk her into getting rid of the two babies (the other two babies died). From what I have heard, they have gone several days without any food...
Unfortunately I have not seen them, and I do not know what sort of condition they are in. I can only go by what she has told me. They are both grey, and she says one is male, one is female. They are about a month and a half old now from what she tells me.
Unfortunately I live 3 hours away and I do not go home often. Gas is $4.17 and I am in my last leg of the semester so that means finals, tests, papers, etc. in addition to working full time, so I do not have time to pick up and go get them. I will be going home the weekend of May 6, 7, and 8 and can pick them up then if someone hasn't gotten them already. These chins are located in Vincennes, IN. I live in Indianapolis, near Greenwood, IN and can transport them back up here with me if someone can pick one or both up here.
I am hoping to find a home for them soon as I do not have room for them here. If push comes to shove, I'm sure I can figure something out, but I want them to go through as less moving and stress as possible.
If you are interested, please contact me and I can pass along her information. Or, if you would rather not deal with her and pick them up directly from me once I go home and am able to pick them up, that could work.
