We took Rafi in last week to the vet (I posted up somewhere). Her teeth are excellent in her mouth, just beautiful, but her roots are still overgrown. The vet is optimistic that her roots will reverse with the diet we have her on.
We have done some talking with folks and decided we will keep Rafi on the Beaphar, but have it mixed with Oxbow Cavy Cuisine, because that has added vitamin C, which increases the absorption of calcium. Then we will no longer give her the calcium supplementation, nor the calcium herb mix, nor the alfalfa. We are giving her Oxbow Botanical Hay (the vet is trying to persuade Oxbow to sell it in 10 pound lots for us). We are going to add Milk Thistle in small amounts because it helps the liver rejuvenate or...regenerate. And I will give her acidophilus because it produces vitamin B, which also helps fatty liver.
So. lol
Here is a picture of Rafi on January 8, the day she arrived.
She is on the box thing, that is Talia in the front:
Here is Rafi, pictured on...March 12. She has gained 'only' 50 grams, but I personally think that is a good amount considering all Rafi's health issues. It's also important that she has not lost any weight, and she eats very well on her own.
I will take another picture of her tonight.
Now, here are some more pictures of Rafi and her mom Talia, who are living together in a 1-level (Ferret Nation) in our living room (because it is warmer there and I can keep a better eye on her during the day):
Talia:

Talia saying hi--she is very grateful to not be pregnant for the first time in years. I swear she says thank you all the time:
Rafi peeking through the hole in their ceiling of their first-ever wood house:
And here is Steven, who is settling in to life as a bachelor. He did not like sharing his cage with Jeffrey Noah, and he didn't like sharing with Zaki, either, so we took them out and left Steven alone, and he really does seem to prefer it that way. He is kind of like a grumpy old man. lol He likes his cage a certain way, and he would get snappish if the younger boys were too exuberant or started moving things around.
^That's his napkin ring. He loves that thing; packs it everywhere he goes. lol
