A family member took in 7 abandoned kittens in her apartment complex. I do not know the entire story to know if the momma cat is still around or not. She has taken them in, cleaned them up and fed them, however she is severely allergic to them and can't keep them. She does not want to send them to the animal shelter to be put down. She is desperately seeking help because she is getting really sick. Does anyone know of any rescues near Houston Texas who might be able to help? I can't take them in myself or I would in a heartbeat!

Well, they just get too over crowded. She is trying to do the right thing but she has four kids in the house as well, she can't afford to be really sick. But she is suffering through because she is so caring! Just trying to help her out. I can't take any of them, I am allergic as are three of my five kids.

i would prefer for shelters to turn ppl away than to kill them. we have waiting lists and don't take in more than we can care for

I agree but then we live in a large city so the people just dump them where ever. It is a horrible fate for the critters but nothing we can do but try to keep them from going there in the first place. At least for now.
