So..let me start off by saying HI HI HI HI HI to everyone in here who was kind enough to check this post.
I bought my beautiful Belle from a place called Pruess's pets. It's in Lansing michigan and i promise you a trip there, JUST to walk inside, is totally worth it.
I was not allowed to buy my chinchilla until I was thuroughly briefed on everything about chinchillas by someone who worked there...NOT some pamphlet.
Every person there is knowlegable in some species or another. They take such good care of their facilities and just have the biggest hearts ever. They even told me to call any time about any silly or stupid question I might have about my chin no matter what they would tell me what to do or where to go. This place is the place to go for all sorts of pets.
Where they have a variety of pets to choose from, they don't always have what you are looking for simply because they carefully select their breeders and they know EXACTLY where your pet is coming from. These are family owned breeders, not mills and that is true for every pet from the snakes to the rats ALLLLLL the way to the wide selection of fish and birds. Their prices are so worth it when you actually talk to them about it. My Chin was from a litter just two towns away so they were local, not from some breeding farm 3 states away.
The best thing about this place? ALL THE ADVICE IS FREE. they are like walking encyclopedias about pets...And if they don't know, they don't let you leave unsatisfied. They will always point you in the right direction.
Believe it or not, i dont know anyone from the store personally nor do i (or have i ever) worked in or near that store. Im just a college student who had the most fantastic experience there. Thats where i found the love of my life, Belle
I'm not being paid in any way nor bribed nor motivated by anything but gratitude for the help i got there
actually i dont even live in Michigan anymore. i moved back home to Illinois so I haven't been there since December.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check it out. If you live within 50 miles, it is totally worth the drive!

(again just suggesting it. i own no claim to anything about their site)
