My chinchilla has a shortage of hair at the top of her head. It is in one spot. Does anyone know why that is? all chinchillas shed some...they go into whats called prime every 3 months the fur is regenerated and refreshed from tail to head Its possible your chinnie is sleeping in a position where it touches its hut, or the cage walls or any other number of things Keep an eye on it though so you know its not any kind of skin infection, fur rot ( maybe from getting wet) sometimes if they are sleeping under a water bottle it can effect the fur when it is dripped on jamie
