Every once in a while I do some checking around, and I finally found a site in DK that sells decent looking toys, and I haven't finished looking at their site. They even have flying saucers and play boxes. Now I haven't bought anything from them YET, but I plan to give them a try. I thought I would let others from DK know since it's so hard to find good chin stuff. As always, proceed with caution maloubi.com

Hi Nana (and other Danes) So I ordered some toys through Maloubi, and I'm completely shocked in a good way. AMAZING SERVICE! Very personal. They have a catalog you can download for chinchillas and other animals, and things you can order directly from the site. I found things in the catalog that I couldn't find on the site I wanted to order so I emailed them on how to order it. A woman emailed me back right away and she took the time to post a link to ever single item I wanted so I could find it on the site. So saturday evening I placed an order for some toys and a brand new hammock. This is a double hammock, and was only 65 kr. She emailed me early Teusday (since Monday was a holiday) saying she was sorry, but the hammock I wanted was sold out in that colour, and it didn't say so on the website, but I could either pick a different, more expensive one (no extra charge), or another colour. The last option was that she could have a new one made for me in the right colour, but the order would come a little late. I was willing to wait for the one I wanted. She emailed me yesterday to tell me my order has been shipped, and said she gave me a free gift of a rose hip chewing block for my trouble. There wasn't any trouble, but that was so nice of her. I didn't expect a free gift for such a small problem, but she was so sorry, and seemed to feel very bad. I also got a little bag of treat hay with flowers and rose pedals as a sample. Well we were in bed sleeping at *%$#@** 7.30 when the postman knocked on the door!!! ARGH!! I poked my husband to wake him to go get it, and he told them to wait while he went to pull on some pants and a shirt. While he was doing that, the guy knocks AGAIN! So I told him to W-A-I-T!!! 7.30!! I like SLEEP!! Anyway...I got my package from Maloubi in less than 24 hours. The stuff all looks quite nice, and I'm impressed by the hammock. I have one that I made myself, but I can't sew. The new one is blue and white with a little chinchilla figure sewn on. When I get extra money, I plan on ordering a TON of things from them, including a flying saucer, and a playtime box. I am incredibly impressed. UPDATE: I got the picture working at the proper size

I wanted a saucer, Nana, but I don't have the money right now, and I think they take up a lot of room. Phoebe has a decent sized cage, but I plan on getting her something much bigger. I just hope they still have the saucers when I want one

Cool! Man I miss buying chinchilla toys, when I went on vacation I let my chinchilla free-run and when I got back there was a huge hole in my wall that went all the way to the outside of the house and my chinchilla was gone. It chewed its way out. Its been years since i've seen it, but every now and then I see it hop across the street in the neighborhood, but I can never catch it. darn. any advice? You know Ashley this kind of post usually sends the admin ..John , Ilka and me into emergency mode. We dont go into emergency mode.. because we want to organize a possy to come find your chinchilla but because people write these kinds of things on a forum where people LOVE and care for their chinchillas and other animals so carefully that the mere thought that you had no one look after your animal long enough for it to eat a hole in the wall is absurd. Not only that but you write you miss buying chinchilla toys? how about your precious chinchilla ... weird You are not seeing your chinchilla in the neighborhood you are hallucinating chinchillas that have been our pets do NOT survive outside unless you have one lucky lucky spared chinchilla..and I really hope I am completely wrong and you have seen it... but most of us know here ..you havent! I mean if this were one day...yeah maybe it avoided the people, the cars, the cats, the dogs, the hawks, the grates that lead to drains for the water on your street, the snakes, the other animals. Please Ashley.. this has to be a post to get attention I have made PLENTY of mistakes with chinchillas Ive found them in garbage cans, fell in toilets, even called the fire and police department cause I too thought my chinchilla got through the wall... (and my wall didnt have a hole in it to the outside do you know how FAR that is to the outside Ashley it would take a month for any animal to dig to the outside UNLESS you are living in a mud hut. Did you just ask for advice at the end of your post??? I advise that you dont give animals free run unless you are animal proof, I suggest that you dont get a hedgehog, a cat, a whale, a nothing till you can provide a home where a chinchilla or guinea pig or whatever is safe from predators and the outside world. You have a great style of shocking here and its hard to know whether you are kidding, or flipping out I want to believe in you...sometimes its made difficult by some of your posts. thanks jamie Members please dont slam her I have now done enough of that!!

Lea: Wow that hammock looks really nice and some of the other items you bought looks interesting too! What are the small bag with color full things, mostly pink? Oh and its also very cheap, i mean one normal large hammock cost like 70Kr on pet pile, so 65Kr for a double is a very nice price. Also since my cage is homemade, space for a saucer is no problem, I already know where to place it, but are you sure that the saucer can run out of stock? because if so then i should probably buy one now, and not wait!

I'm sure they won't run out of stock, but that would just be MY luck they would lol I've applied to a job, and if I get it, then I'll get the cash in August to buy it, I'm VERY pleased with this hammock. I should ask her to sew ME one. It looks super comfortable. The thing with pink stuff on top is actually an all natural chew block. I didn't buy that, they sent it as a free gift because of the hammock mistake. It has rose pieces on top, but it broke in half as I was opening it...oh well I was still able to attach half to the cage. The little one with pink yellow and green blocks is a Klods Hans There is a grass mat with wooden chew toys hanging off of it, which Phoebe LOVES And the round one on a stick is a Flettet Slikkepind All of that PLUS shipping cost was less than 300kr.

Wow thats amazing, haha i totally know that feeling when you see your chin chilling in the hammock and you wish it was you, or if they don't use it at all and you yourself would like to use it instead, haha.
I do hope that you get that job, ill have my fingers crossed for you! (: It all looks and sounds wonderful, so i cant wait to go on a shopping spree myself! Thank you once again for requesting and reviewing and please post more if you buy something from them in the future, I absolutely love seeing what everyone buys their chinnies, because i get good inspiration from it, it might sound silly.. but when i look at the pages filled with goodies of all kinds i just cant make up my mind on what to buy, and i have no idea so i just end up not buying anything or buying something that may be a fail or a hit, so it really helps when i see what others buy and hear if the products are good, oh and you definitely sold me when you mentioned the grass mat, even i think it looks delicious, haha (:

just buy little bits and your chins will let you know what they like, i have tried lots of different wood and my boys like apple wood best so now if i put wood in their toys it is apple wood sticks, they also love pine blocks, and these little card rings called bagle bites

I have apple sticks that I use for treats. I usually break a long one in half and give that to her. She burns through them so quickly! My husband gave her a long one (about 20cm) the night before last. He sat and talked to her for a second, stood up, turned around, and he heard the stick fall. So he turned around again to pick it up for her, and it was bald lol She's like an electric pencil sharpener.

I just ordered a flying saucer!! So i am super excited, and i can feel that my chinnies are too after i told them, haha (: Finally i can cross off "one of the biggest needs for the chins", on my list! It feels great, and I'm so excited (: I have them out 8hours a day or more, every day, so they don't necessarily need it. But when I'm over at my boyfriend every 3rd weekend, and its my dad taking care of them, they only get 1 hour out, or so every day, and i feel bad about that, so now i can finally remove that feeling, when i get the saucer! Wee (: Also when i go to bed the fun and play doesn't have to stop, i like that thought

That's so fantastic! I'm so happy I found that site, and I can't wait to be able to order one myself. I hope that you get the same fantastic level of service that I got dealing with them. Your shipping is free, too, right? I thought I saw something about orders over 500kr. being free. In that case, 600kr. is such a great deal. Any other place I found saucers was 700-800 and that wasn't including shipping. I expect pictures when you get it, of course

Lea: Yes its extremely fantastic that you found that site, and the shipping was indeed free! I only payed for the wheel (600kr), and as you say it's crazy how cheap it is from what Ive seen any where else! So I'm very happy with the site, and the purchase itself! (:
Charlie: In Denmark shipping also costs way too much! Like there is a site where i always buy chinchilla food from but the shipping is ridiculous! The food costs around 2pounds for a good bag of food, but the shipping is 12 pounds!! But Ive now found that there's a big animal store near me that sells the pellets that i use, so I'm not gonna buy from that site anymore, and ill save myself 12 pounds (:
- Oh and i am of course gonna take loads of pictures! I already need to update pictures of their cage, loads of changes have been done since i last posted (:

thats great news i buy my pellets and dust from the same site in 20KG sacks and postage is a fair amount but its worth it as no shops sell the stuff and considering the weight its not too bad. and coz i get so much i don't order often. in fact i have only ordered one bag of each since i had my boys and have loads left still

Aah, yes i also have the choice to buy BIG BAGS, but i have this weird fear that it will get old, or be bad or something.. and that's not only chin food, its my own food.. i always check the dates on food and i always make sure that there isn't days until it expires, one of my small oddities :b
